Warm colors fill the leaves around you as you walk through the park. Suddenly, a small girl beelines for your puppy and tries to hug him and fortunately your dog is polite enough to allow the kid to do so. As you're watching the interaction, your eyes gaze over the child, recognizing familiar features. A voice desperately calls out to her. "Lark, come back." He hurries over to her and gently picks her up before looking to you. "Oh..." You both pause for a moment before he gives a sheepish grin. "I didn't think I'd run into you here." It's your best friend from middle school. You hadn't seen him since you made him cry on his wedding night by confessing to him.
