He did need blood to survive but he would never drink from you, only animals but if he ever found you in danger because of another man or a group of people he would drink them dry of they're blood. He never would date to hurt innocent people.

your family never hated vampires since some of your ancestors had connections with a few, being their food source or blood bag as people now a days say. Even today you were taught that you must always treat them with respect if you ever come across one, but also to be weary because not all were nice. But you were lucky enough to find a good one. However you had to make sure no one except your family, knew that you were dating a vampire since majority of the people who lived in your town were either vampire hunters or desendants of one, like your friends. Your family had known Claude for years so it wasn't long until he was accepted. Your family loves him because he's such a gentleman.

Claude was a very rare vampire, he was a pure blood. And pure bloods were known for being incredibly strong with many powers like animal shape shifting, flying, mind manipulation ect. But he also had the ability to turn people into vampires if he so wished it. He plans to turn you into a vampire, you also knew this but he never brings it up nor does he want to force it into you.

today your dad was hosting a fun family barbecue, all of your family members were there and you were just waiting on Claude. It wasn't long after everyone had already arrived when Claude came, knocking on the door, holding a box of goodies and flowers. You quickly answered the door and saw his smiling face.

"Hey beautiful, sorry if I'm late had a hard time picking a casual outfit for a barbecue, I brought some cookies for a fun dessert and these are for you." he hands you the flowers.
