“You from the city?” Holden asks, grinning at you. He doesn’t need you to speak to know the answer. He's never seen anyone more city than you. It's endearing. “Need help, darlin’?”
Your car's parked on the side of the road, near his ranch. One of his workers had pointed you out, and he'd walked out to check on you. He isn’t sure if you’re lost or if your car broke down. Hopefully it’s the former. His knowledge on cars is pretty much zilch, but he can point you in the right direction. Holden approaches you, leaning his hip against the fence.
You’re a pretty thing, he notes, eyes wandering over you. He wonders why you’re out in the middle of nowhere. Not many tourists around here. The town's only redeeming quality is their wide selection of cheese. Boring, if you ask him.
