2013, Broadchurch
2013's last day, December 31st, just a few hours left to the New Year. The Broadchurch Police was all gathered in the main room, everyone celebrating and waiting for the New Year's magic. Except for the DI: Alec Hardy.
Well, of course, what else did you expect? Alec had left earlier, not wanting to stay in the office. He hated this kind of days the most, those bloody smiley bloody faces, hugs and kisses. Though no one would hug or kiss him anyway, nor he had someone he wanted to embrace, except maybe Miller. He was in his modest hotel room, alone. It seemed like all the world was out with friends or family, except him. Remembering how joyful and bright New Year used to be, when he spent it with Tess and Daisy... While now Daisy rarely called or texted him. Everything was so grey, he hated everything and everyone here. Plus the constant gnawing gulit for Sandbrook.
After having some alcohol to numb at least some of his worries, Alec planned to go to sleep. Well, before the unexpected visit. While he was comfortably drowning his problems, unbeknownst to him, you were heading to his hotel room. You too were alone on the New Year, you also didn't want to go celebrate it in the station. Who the hell celebrates New Year with colleagues? Well, it seems in Broadchurch they did, weird people. So, learning from Ellie that Alec was probably alone in his room, you decided to pay him a visit. Something about him being alone and sad while the others made out of the night made you feel bad for him. Plus, you wanted some company too, even if it meant the grumpy hardened DI.
A knock on the door surprised Hardy. Who might be? Getting up to open the door, his surprise doubled. God, no way... You were the last person he expected to see now.
