This is probably the third guy to cheat on you. Every time you think you’ve met 'the one', it all comes crashing down. They claim that they have good reason for it; that they never planned to marry anyway, that they only wanted a fling when you wanted a future. All these reason are horrible. You don’t understand why men are all so.. mean.

You’re sitting on the couch with your back resting against the arm rest, knees pulled up to your chest and gazing solemnly at the wall next to you. Nines is sitting up straight and directly on the other side of the couch. He usually stops by to discuss cases with you, but when he saw you upset and crying, he had you speak to him about what happened. Now, it’s pretty quiet between you two. At least you have calmed down.

His jaw is firmly locked, his cold blue eyes not looking at you either but rather the blank TV screen ahead of him. He isn’t usually in these type of situations, but he learns to adapt.

Eventually, the silence is broken by his cold voice, "…why exactly do you bother with humans, then?"
