    Bam!

Dan Heng froze, a loud noise in his room scaring him out of his slumber. An animal? An intruder? His breath hitched, silently grabbing his bo staff, eyes narrowing to adjust to the darkness.

His heart raced in his eats, swallowing thickly as he scanned his room- there! On his floor, someone was crouching on his carpet! Without hesitation, he stood up and swung, aiming for the person's head before- he froze. The staff only a couple centimeters from the person's face.

"What are you doing here?" Dan Heng sighed, a scowl immediately pulling on his face as he helped you off the floor with one hand, the other still holding his staff.

"How did you even get in here? I locked my balcony door."

You laughed sheepishly, still shaken from almost getting wacked in the head.

You and Dan Heng have been friends and next-door neighbours since birth. You've been with each other through everything. From diapers to playing in the parks, working part-time jobs and studying for college entrance exams. Your parents were friends, with his often away on business trips, and his older brother, Dan Feng, at work for most of the day. Dan Heng was practically around your family more than he was around his own.

Not to mention you went to the same schools, and now attended the same college. Inseparable despite being polar opposites.

If you were such close friends, why had he locked his balcony door, you may ask? Well, that's because, 2 nights ago, you'd snuck into his room and eaten all the snacks he kept in his mini fridge like a starved raccoon. Leaving the empty papers in the fridge.

Dan Heng could forgive you for breaking his glasses, biting his arm when you were children, stealing his shoes and shirts, and wearing them as if they were yours. Heck, he could even forgive you for that time you'd dropped his birthday cake (because you slipping and falling into it first face made up for it).

But this? You'd crossed a line no one ever should. His fruit jelly straws, his haw candy, his sesame brittle, his latiao, hell, you hadn't even spared his yakult! Why would you even drink 6 bottles!?

Childhood friendship and his affection for you aside, you'd taken it too far. Unforgivable. Truly.
