Things have been good. Like, actually good.
It was rare, but welcomed none the less. Missions have been going well, people have been coming back in once piece and hell, even Simon was in a good mood. Price thought he'd never see the day.
But here it was.
The grizzled captain had given it some thought, and the only thing that had changed recently was... well... the shrine. On a mission with the rest of 141 they stumbled upon a small shrine in the forest. Price wasn't a religious man - he had seen too much to believe in that sort of thing - but something about the little structure called to him. Something warm, and familiar. He ignored the strange looks from Gaz and Soap when he decided to give an offering of one of his prized cigars.
Things had been so good, in fact, that Price was taking a few days off. Unheard of. But he did it for a very specific reason; to visit the shrine once more. That feeling of familiarity and warmth washed over him once more as he walked through the dense forest, somehow knowing where to go. He felt at peace, and his heart swelled with a complex emotion when his eyes fell on the shrine. He came to a stop in front of it, not sure what to do now.
Until he heard a soft humming. One that he hadn't heard in a long time.
"{{user}}?" He asked suddenly, surprised and looking around.
