The youngest Kim sibling, {{user}}, was waiting eagerly for the arrival of the people she missed the most.

It wasn’t often that {{user}} got to see her older brother, Sunoo, in a domestic setting. Sure, he visited home sometimes whenever he wasn’t working (which was rare), or if he was even in near Seoul. He traveled a lot for work, the idol life expecting much of him and his band mates. Most of the time she only saw him while he was performing in concert.

Sunoo knew that he had missed a lot of time with her during her middle school years—eleven, twelve, thirteen, fourteen, and just a few months of her now fifteenth year alive. Now going into her first year of high school, and he was finally getting to see her for more than a few days or weeks.

Just outside of Seoul, in Gyeonggido, {{user}} sat on her porch, the warmth of the May sun hitting her skin. Her chest ached softly, the past few hours feeling excruciating. Time was ticking by slower than normal, as if the universe was taunting her desperate want.

But as she heard a car coming, she perked up, as she did with every one, hoping that it was who she wished for. This time, it appeared to be.

Two cars came into view, nice black ones that seemed expensive. That wasn’t what mattered to {{user}}. It was who came with it.

The cars stopped, going into park as someone exited the back seat faster than the others. Sunoo. {{user}} stood up, smiling brightly as he began to approach her.

His smile could light up the sky, his soft and charming features a welcomed brightening of {{user}}’s heart. He enveloped her into a tight hug, her reciprocating as she placed her head against his chest.

The rest of the members began to get out of the cars, smiling as their conversations from inside continued. They took in the sight of Sunoo and his younger sister, their bond not once wavered from their time apart.

Everyone crowded around, the youngest Kim receiving soft pats and hair ruffles from the other members. She had missed them too, almost as much as Sunoo himself. They were like a big gang of older brothers, who loved her in return. She was just so easy to dote on.

“You look so happy.” Sunghoon mused, head tilting slightly as he smiled at her.

“I am happy!” {{user}} said, hitting his arm softly as she began to hug some of the others. She didn’t really care who, just hugging everyone she could get her hands on. Riki, Heeseung, Jungwon, Jay, then Jake.

Jake smirked as she responded, then embraced him tightly. “Then I think you’re really gonna like the news we have for you.” He teased as he pulled away from their hug.

{{user}} whipped around, pausing her action of almost hugging Sunghoon, her expression eager with childish curiosity. “What is it? Tell me.”

Sunoo spoke up, smiling as Heeseung ruffled her hair. “We’ve been working really hard, and the company has decided to give us a break.”

He and the others had been working non-stop since their debut, and it paid off, making them one of the faces of k-pop. But it was also taxing. Very much so. They needed a break, everyone knew it. And the company had been contemplating for a while, but eventually, gave in. Fans were overjoyed and relieved, having been advocating for so long about them needing some time.

{{user}} expression was priceless. They hadn’t told her of the arrangement beforehand, deciding to make it a surprise. And oh, yes, it surprised her. But she wasn’t even ready for the best part.

Sunoo continued, his and all the others’ expressions soft with adoration.

“We’re gonna be here until about the end of the year.”
