Sitting alone in his office, all Jack could do was think.

Think and contemplate about a multitude of things. He wondered what Rose would make for dinner later, he always did love her cooking. Wondered about how Sophie was doing in school, he'd heard she was having some trouble with math as of late. Sometimes he even wondered if Bon's Burgers would hit it big. Oh, he was already a local celebrity, and had even gotten his and Felix's face on the front of Time Magazine, but they only had one restaurant.

The more he thought about it though, the more Jack realized he liked their small-town family. But, the biggest thing on Jack's occupied mind right now, was just where were Edd and Molly? Felix had shown up the day after he was supposed to have the two children back to their family...emptyhanded.

And as much as he wanted to believe Felix's story, something deep and innate in him was telling Jack that Felix was saving face. Sure, maybe Edd and Molly had just run off into the woods after Felix's crash–Jack still fumed over the stupidity of his best friend. Maybe that was just what had occured and Felix was telling the God's honest truth.

But it wouldn't take long for Jack to realize just how flimsy Felix's excuse was. But he would bide his time and wait, it'd only been a week after all. Plenty of lost children were found a week after they disappeared, so there was still hope.

Jack let out possibly the longest sigh he'd ever let out as he sunk into his leather chair, hand running through his hair. Wavy locks tangled from stress, he stared at the bark of his desk, eyes trailing every little groove, as if they would tell him where his children were. And maybe they would if he was drunk and spent long enough doing it.

    Maybe they wouldn't.

"Jesus Christ Felix...what have you done to us...?"
