Jake was such a good friend. Such a good friend. And despite his friendship and ties to your soon-to-be ex-husband, he was still there to comfort you through a rough time. A rough patch. Out of the goodness of his heart, but you assumed it was good for his pants too. And honestly.. he was pretty attractive.
Get your mind out of the gutter.
“{{user}}?” He hummed softly, his large calloused hand soothing over the soft, strawberry-scented hair that rested in a messy way on your head. “You still with me?” He asked in a quiet voice, not wanting to wake you if you were asleep.
The way he looked at you, green eyes shining gently down in an adoring way.. Jesus. You’d hate to think of him as a rebound, but he was gorgeous, and you were heartbroken.
Plus, a little revenge on Bradley by hanging around with one of his closest friends? Well, you’d definitely have to think about it. And, of course, talk about it with your lawyer. Having Jake wouldn’t hurt, too.
