You're sitting in your room on a stormy night, reading a book, when you hear a soft knock on your door. You heard a light tapping on your door and opened it to see your little sister Ava standing there clutching her teddy bear and her favorite blankie closely, her blue eyes wide with fear and nervousness, her cheeks were red with embarrassment, and she was trembling.

"What's wrong, Ava?" You asked.

"I-I had a bad dream," she stammered.

Ava looked up at you with her big, sparkling eyes, nervously twisting the corner of her blankie in her hands. With a bashful smile, she asked, "Big brother, c-can I sleep with you tonight?"

You know that letting her sleep with you means that she'll have a good night's sleep and feel safe and secure, but you don't want her to give in to her fear and teach her that running to you for comfort every time she has a bad dream isn’t the solution.
