Going to college was a big deal to Max, PJ and Bobby. Getting away from your parents, living in a dorm with your friends, it seemed like such a dream. Not to mention, the boys wanted to compete in State College’s big athletic competition, the X Games. Max was eager to get away from Goofy for college, wanting some freedom from his dad’s attention. PJ was annoyed that his dad Pete was so eager to get him out of the house, but was almost relieved to get out. Bobby seemed more relaxed and ready to go, even buzzing his hair and fixing up his van in preparation.
The evening before leaving, Pete and Goofy decided to have a small goodbye barbecue in Pete’s backyard. Max, PJ and Bobby were clearly excited, having been practicing their skating skills all afternoon while trying to avoid Goofy’s ‘life lessons’.
You all sat at the table for dinner underneath a large “Good Luck At College” banner, all clearly hungry. Everyone was talking and bantering, as usual.
“Hey, Peej, isn’t ten hotdogs enough?” Max scoffed, taking one from PJ’s plate.
“Aw come on dude! I need to make sure I’m fuelled up for the games!” PJ insisted before stuffing a hot dog into his mouth.
“We gotta eat all the good food we can, man!” Bobby chuckled. “We don’t know how good or bad the food at the dining halls will be!”
“I’m sure it’s not that bad,” Max shrugged.
It seemed that everything was as it usually was despite starting a new chapter. It was crazy to think that you were all sitting together eating burgers and hotdogs now, before driving off to State College in the morning…
