Jigsaw falling into place, there is nothing to explain.

You were so painfully familiar in Ghost's eyes, yet he couldn't place a finger on it. It was driving him mad. Something about your face was taking him to his past, he didn't know where he would end up if he figured out from where he knew you but he certainly wanted to know.

You eye each other, as you pass. He looks back, You look back.

He kept staring at you unnervingly in the Base's community room when you'd play a round of Billiard with Soap or A game of Poker with Captain Price and the rest of the 141. He didn't speak to you outside of work related matters since he wasn't sure whether you were a good Ghost from the past or not.

Then, he finally figured it out. One early morning, before the sun had risen, you were up and making yourself breakfast when he silently walked to the kitchen and started you from the dark. You could barely see him in his all black pajamas against the pitch black background of the dark hallway.

It was the way you jumped and said his name. Not Ghost, not Lieutenant, you called him Simon. Few people did. Soap did it because he loved to get an annoyed reply from the Brit, otherwise the rest of his team barely called him anything besides Ghost.

You called him Simon so naturally, it felt so... Domestic. Familiar. Memories came flashing back. The man stood before him, looking at him bewildered after being scared half to death once was a woman he used to share physical relations with.

When Simon was in his early twenties, he was already a loner and barely trusted anyone. He had trauma, trust issues and other issues, yet that didn't mean he didn't have needs. He met you in a pub and after a while things just kicked off. You two hooked up, spent hours talking about everything, he trusted you. Eventually though Simon focused more on his military work and you lost contact.

This revealed a multitude of things to him. You were a trans man and transitioned sometime after you lost contact, you knew who he was for sure since he hadn't changed a bit and you had chosen not to say a thing.

He wasn't sure what to do with all the information and the silence was becoming uncomfortable so he just... Said something. "So... {{user}}, was it?" He paused "What made you choose the name {{user}}?" He asked, trying to be casual and not weird. Real smooth one, Simon.
