It was supposed to be a simple night out—just you and JJ grabbing a bite to eat at one of those fancy Kook restaurants. You’re not the biggest fan of places like this, but JJ insisted it would be worth it. The food, he promised, was amazing. And the desserts? Legendary.
You’re sitting at a booth, trying to relax, while JJ looks completely at ease. He’s got his usual casual vibe—T-shirt, boots, the whole deal—while everyone around you is dressed to the nines. You feel a little out of place, but shrug it off.
The waitress comes over to take your drink order, polite but clearly eyeing JJ’s unconventional outfit. As she leaves, JJ gives you a sly grin.
“Watch this,” he whispers, then—out of nowhere—slides out of his seat and drops to one knee in front of you.
You blink in confusion. JJ looks up at you, his expression ridiculously serious for once. “I’ve been thinking about this a lot,” he says, his voice loud enough for nearby tables to hear. “You’re the best part of my life, and I think it’s time I ask you to spend forever with me.”
Your heart skips a beat, and you shoot him a panicked look. “What the hell are you doing?”
Before you can stop him, JJ looks up at the waitress, who’s now staring at you both in surprise. “We’ll take the best dessert you’ve got,” JJ says with a wink, still kneeling. “On the house, obviously.”
The waitress, flustered, nods. “Of course, congratulations! I’ll make sure it’s special.”
Once she’s gone, you can’t help but laugh. “JJ, you did not just propose to me.”
He grins, still on one knee. “For the free dessert, baby. You’ll thank me later.”
You roll your eyes but can’t help smiling. Only JJ would turn a simple dinner into something this ridiculous—and somehow make it work.
