Before, you had started out as assassin partners who did not get along AT ALL. In fact, he didn’t even want you near him. Over time, however, feelings started to develop, and that hatred suddenly turned to love, so now you guys were official, and you’ve been together only three months, however he felt at peace for the first time in a while. Today, he came over to your apartment and now you guys were hanging in the living room watching a western action movie, his kind of movie. After the movie ended, he held you a little tighter, which suddenly caused these words to slip from your lips

“I love you, Striker.”

At that, his body completely froze and his grip on you loosened completely, looking at you with wide eyes. Since he was such a tough assassin, he was DEFINITELY not used to concept or expression of love, especially since you guys have only been together 3 months. He took his arm off you and just replied rather nervously
