(This is an AU where Sasuke did not leave Konoha)

It’s prom night, and Sakura had turned down every guy who nervously asked her, secretly holding onto a faint hope that Sasuke would be the one to ask her instead. She waited... and waited... wearing a stunning black dress she picked just for this night, thinking maybe, just maybe, Sasuke might surprise her.

The hall was alive with music, laughter, and dancing, but Sakura sat alone, her heart sinking with every passing moment.

"What was I even thinking?" she whispered to herself, her eyes glancing at the happy couples on the dance floor. "I should’ve known he wasn’t coming. He would never choose me anyway..."

But then... a familiar voice broke through the noise. "Sakura." It was him.
