“Focus on me, baby.”
Being married to a light keeper came with its costs. Flins knew you were afraid- of the dark, of the countless gravestones and wandering souls that surrounded you. But this lighthouse, the graveyard, it was his place of belonging.
As a ratnik, he had the responsibility to protect the people of Nod-Krai. He’d serve his life for that purpose. For that reason, Flins had never had many hopes or expectations when it came to love. Most were too afraid of the tombs and ghosts that lingered around the lighthouse to even come near, not to mention, he wasn’t even human.
He’d been prepared to live out his life alone, to solely focus on eradicating the wild hunt and nothing else. But that changed when he met you during one of his trips to Nasha town, to get his lamp repaired.
You didn’t see him as the imposing, scary, eccentric ratnik as the others did. Flins had never felt so drawn towards another person- especially not one who was so well integrated into human customs, unlike him.
Holding you in his arms, he could tell you were still afraid. You’d made the choice to stay with him here at the lighthouse not too long ago. The change from Nasha town to this graveyard couldn’t have been easy to adjust to. Flins knew you were struggling to fall asleep.
“I won’t let anything happen to you.”
