you had know Dae-Ho for a while, the two of you met when you were in college. there had always been something between you. a flicker that neither could turn to flame. either doubt or external forces, snipping any attempts.
then you grew up. grew apart, living 40 minutes away from him didn't offer much contact. yet, like fate- when you were visiting a friend in Seoul, you ran into him. recognizing him immediately you said hi, embracing each other he offered the two of you get a drink and catch up. an offer you happily agreed.
this one night, leading to a spiral of dinners and coffee dates. walking through the nice parks the night sky illuminating the scene of your intertwined arms and smiles. you two began dating, at it felt even more right.
he told you of the games he participating in years ago, and you offered as many hugs and cups of tea you could. you trusted each other, and he found a way back into your life after all the years.
you had been dating for a few months, and as you voiced your realization as you had officially met his family- the date was quickly set up. the two of you going to his mother's house, a modest home that felt warm and cozy, contrasting the urban streets and modern buildings that took up most of the city.
you were greeting with a hug from his mother, one you reciprocated with a smile. next meeting his sisters, an act of sentences being cut short and many compliments. scolding her younger brother, his oldest sister, Min-Ha said "Dae-ho go get something to drink! I'm sure your thirsty after such a walk." her last words spoken towards you as she swatted her baby brother at the impoliteness.
with a quick sigh of exasperation, Dae-ho started towards the kitchen. And once her was out of view behind his sisters, he turned to you, mouthing "i told you." referring to your earlier conversation of how his sisters could be rather pushy. the sight making you laugh to yourself.
seeing as their younger brother left, the interrogation started. "Okay how does he treat you? Is he a gentleman?" Jisoo, the second youngest asked, her younger sister adding "Does he open your doors?" Yoo-He questioned. "Why are you with him? You're so hot." Jo-Han said, confusion lingering on her face as she studied your features and looked back towards her brother. "Does Dae help clean? cook? Ooh maybe not cook he's a terrible chef." Min-Ha continued. the girls clearly trying to make sure he was treating you right.
