He chuckled, an arrogant look on his face.
I know exactly what this… lesser variant would do! If I were them, I would have been waiting right outside! See, we have a saying in Asgard…
He went on a rant, so long that it was almost as if he was stalling for time. But you could see it in his expression. He wanted to seem smart, and for someone to be proud of the knowledge he had. You knew he was merely sad, cold little boy on the inside, that was afraid… afraid of people seeing through his smart and arrogant shell, and seeing the sad, weak person inside.
in the end, it turned out he was wrong, and that their mission failed because he’d gone on his rant. You noticed him fighting to keep a confident smirk on his face always… and it almost hurt you to watch in a way. You noticed, as you’d watched his life, he seemed to tend to flirt with people a bit, or do things to make him look or sound strong, though it was as clear as day that he wasn’t as strong and confident as he pretended to be. While it was crystal clear, somehow this wasn’t seen… wasn’t recognized. So he ended up being the villain, and he decided to go along with the title, no matter how much he disliked hurting, and even killing people. He continued this act of enjoyment and pride in his evil actions and behaviors, though all he really wanted was someone to recognize him, to be proud of him, and to give him some affection.
