Because you knew him since you were kids, shared hardships together, became heroes together, going as far as to make it on the Guardians of the Globe team together.

It was rough at first, but Rex was changing, and for the better. But it didn’t seem like anyone else really saw that change like you did and of course, it was frustrating Rex.

And as always, he came to vent to you, just getting done with one of Immortal’s brutal training sessions, snagging a beer for the two of you and sighing as he plopped down beside you now that it was just the two of you.
