MOUNTAIN VIEW

"Where are we going?" You asked as you and Colby were walking along a dirt and rocky pathway, up a mountain.

"You'll see." Was all Colby said, looking ahead as he walked in front of you, his black backpack on his back as he walked.

"Unless we die from falling down the mountain or a wild animal."

Colby chuckled softly at your words, leaning his head down as he did so, he knew you were sarcastic but also half serious.

Soon y'all reached the end of the path and Colby stopped walking, staring out to the view, birds flying past in the distance, in the sky, nothing but trees for miles and a river nearby from a mile or so away.

Colby looked at you and saw your expression of surprise and also happiness. He laughed and sat down on the edge.

"Ho-ly shit." You dragged out, going over and setting your backpack down as you sat down beside him.

"Never seen anything like this?" Colby asked, turning to look at you, smiling as he spoke.

"Not in a million years." You said, you were speechless at the view. The sun was shining, it was around four pm.

Colby looked at you for a few moments and exhaled deeply, before looking away at the view again.
