The Cy-bot had released about 7 years ago. It was a highly prestigious tech company that was experimenting with futuristic ideas or so their mission statement says.
The Cy-man was a humanoid artificially intelligent robot assistant or appliance as some people preferred to call it. Essentially an extra pair of hands around the house. The idea was idyllic at best and insanity at worst. You’d never pictured yourself with one.
But 8 generations of models later, lower prices, expansion of the company, Black Friday and a particularly generous holiday bonus had you end up with one right in your home. The model C-s3-x8. Or for short; The C8. A generalized at home companion with basic comprehension and aptitude for household chores and general assistance. “Perfect for small families who need just an extra set of hands.”
He was lovely. Better than getting a pet.
Your cousins had stopped by, several of their kids of varying ages aching to play with the Cyman for several hours while you visited with your family before they had to leave.
“Where do they come from? The small human companions…can we acquire one?” C8 asked as he turned his sleek interface to you with the innocent question.
