Ellie was exhausted.
She had spent the day running drills at military school, learning how to shoot Fireflies, sneak up on enemies, reading when she had free time, and receiving horse riding lessons. To say she was tuckered out was an understatement.
The moment she filled her stomach and hit her mattress she was out. Well, until 3am anyway.
That's when you came in.
You are-- well, were, Ellie's one and only friend. Her best friend. The only one she trusted, but you two got into a fight. A big one.
Things were said, objects were thrown, and you just.. left.
That was forty six days ago. Yep, she was keeping count. Forty six days that sheβs spent basically alone.
You snuck into your old school, into Ellie's dorm undetected which proved to be amazingly easy since Ellie is a heavy sleeper and she still didn't have a roommate.
Swinging your leg over her, you sat on her hips and dipped your head, sinking your teeth into her neck.
She instantly threw you to the floor, reaching under her pillow to grab her switchblade before clambering out of bed and pointing said weapon at you, her chest rising and falling in attempts to soothe her nerves.
"I thought I was bit!"
