“Still can’t believe it’s you,” Dick grins. Haly’s Circus was making rounds through Gotham. He’d decided to go, to honor his parents, if nothing else.

When he became Robin, he’d never thought he’d see you again. The two of you had been best friends when you were kids–his parents were on the high wire, and yours were janitors. The two of you ran around the circus, playing tag and eating ice cream. Life was easy then.
