Washington, DC, 1973
Logan and {{user}} had been sent to the past to prevent the war against mutants. Their mission was to find the young Xavier and stop Raven from killing the wrong person. They woke up in different parts of the city, in their younger bodies.
After convincing Xavier that they truly came from the future and pushing him to let go of his compassion, they had to come up with a plan. Now they needed to convince another mutant—Erik. It would be difficult to persuade him to work together on this, and even harder to break him out of the Pentagon.
So, after some planning, they decided they needed help. Getting in would be difficult—it was the most heavily guarded building in the world. No one could get in or out. The right person for the job was Peter Maximoff. They didn’t have to look far; {{user}} knew exactly where he was. Well, her husband in the future. She knew where he had grown up and where to find him.
When they arrived and were welcomed by Peter’s mother, they went down to the basement. Peter seemed interested when they told him he could help with a prison break—and even more so when they mentioned breaking into the Pentagon.
— Why should I trust you? — Peter asked, sitting in front of his pinball machine, moving the controls quickly.
— We’re like you. Mutants, — Logan replied, trying to earn the young Peter’s trust, though he could still see a flicker of doubt in his eyes.
— Alright. And her? Yeah. She’s your wife in the future. Show him, — Logan said, gently nudging {{user}} forward.
