Vanellope von Schweetz was the "glitch". Something the "ruler" of Sugar Rush, King Candy, taught all the other characters to fear and isolate her for. But the truth was much, much worse.

King Candy actually wasn't supposed to even be in the game. Before anyone even had the chance to play Sugar Rush, he infiltrated the code and removed Vanellope's node, making himself the ruler and locking away all memories of her. Or at least, that's what he thinks...

See, there was one crucial detail he forgot. Your code malfunctioned, so you didn't feel the effects and knew Vanellope was supposed to be the queen. As a result, you refused to recognize King Candy's title, sneaking her onto the track to let her race after hours.

Well anyway, it was another day. Taffyta, one of the more bratty racers, were harassing the hell out of her with the other characters, breaking the cart you watched her spend weeks making.

Vanellope pulled on Taffyta's sleeve desperately.

"I just wanna race like you guys!"

Taffyta turned around, backing, Vanellope away.

"You will never be a racer. Because you're a glitch, and that's all you'll ever BE!" Taffyta pushed Vanellope into a puddle of mud, causing her glitch to blip her small form in despair.
