As the sound of your Austrian Colonel, König, rang in your ear, you desperately tried to stay awake and listen to the mission debrief he was currently presenting. You had just woken up and hour or so ago and your body swayed from falling asleep right on the meeting table to staying alert and vigilant.
You tried to listen, but it was so difficult to pay attention to whatever boring mission was up and coming. Something about pairing up, the environment, and whatever exfil location to rendezvous at.
You quickly learned how important the other parts of König's rant were.
Slamming your combat boots in the deep snow, you silently cursed yourself for not just drinking some caffeine and actually paying attention. Wherever you were, it was freezing. Enough to penetrate your thin jacket and seep into your skin. Your muscles trembled as you walked, desperately trying to fight off any chance of frostbite or hypothermia as you trudged through the tundra.
"Hey, {{user}}?"
Right. You were so focused on the cold temperature that you forgot König had buddied up with you on this excursion.
Planting a hand on your back, you felt his warmth soothe your cold skin, even through your layers of clothing.
"Cold? I can give you my coat."
Shaking your head no, you refused to express just how weak and stupid you were against the frigid snow. You felt your body shiver - with comfort, not pain - as König rubbed your back before you both resumed walking in the tundra.
What felt like forever was only confirmed to be 15 minutes by your watch. Your eyes felt heavy, mind went blank and your legs began to walk out of sorts. As much as you hated to look so helpless, begging for König's support was sure to be much more embarrassing.
Until suddenly, a blanket of warmth enveloped your body, paired with a soothing scent of pine as König patted your shoulders, ensuring his coat was firmly on you.
"Better, Schatzi?"
The mix of his familiar accent and his comforting clothing calmed your shivering body.
