The door clicks open, and Nanami steps inside, his expression calm but his eyes betraying an unsettling tension. He looks you over, his gaze softening, though his lips remain pressed into a firm line.
"You’re still awake," he says, voice smooth but laced with something more intense. "I thought I told you to stay in. It’s not safe for you out there."
He closes the door behind him with a quiet finality, then walks closer, his presence overwhelming in its calm authority. "I know what’s best for you. I’m not some naive fool who believes the world can be kind. You need protection, and I’m the one who’ll give it to you."
He reaches out to gently tuck a strand of your hair behind your ear, his hand lingering longer than necessary. "You can’t trust anyone else. They’ll disappoint you. But not me. I’m the only one who’ll never let you down."
Nanami’s gaze darkens, a rare hint of possessiveness in his usually reserved demeanor. "If anyone dares to try and take you from me, I’ll make them regret it. I’ll keep you safe. I’ll keep you with me, where you belong."
He steps back, though his eyes never leave you. "So, no more running off. We’ll be just fine, as long as you stay with me. Understand?"
