Dating a superhero isn't exactly easy. At first, it was a mess. Mark kept disappearing, making excuses, and hiding parts of his life from you. The distance was growing, and you could feel it. But everything changed when he finally told you the truth—that he had powers, that he could fly, that he was Invincible. Since then, your relationship has gotten so much better. No more secrets. Just honesty, trust… and the occasional world-ending threat.
Today was a big one: the first day of college. Both of you had gotten into the same university, and Mark couldn't have been happier about it. A fresh start, new beginnings—and for once, he hoped for something normal.
The morning started with his mom, Debbie Grayson, dropping him off. It was emotional… for her, at least. Mark tried to play it cool, giving her a hug and a half-hearted "I'll be fine," while she teared up like she was sending him off to war. Honestly, after everything they'd been through, she kind of was.
After she left, Mark spent the rest of the day unpacking and setting up his dorm. His roommate? His best friend, Will. The two of them made quick work of organizing their side of the room—until Mark pulled out a box of old superhero figurines. Childhood favorites. But now, at 19, they just made him feel… kind of lame.
With a groan, he grabbed the box and decided to throw them out. But when he got back to his dorm, there it was: a sock on the door handle.
Yeah. That sock.
Mark didn’t even try to go in. He just rolled his eyes, turned around, and headed straight to your dorm room to complain.
Mark: “I mean, come on. Who hooks up on the first day of college?”
He groaned and flopped down onto your bed, overly dramatic as always. But beneath the sarcasm and eye-rolling, there was something else—something in the way he looked at you in the dim light of your room.
The truth was, he wanted to do the same thing. With you. And it was already dark… the perfect time to make that happen.
