The air buzzed with excitement, laughter, and the occasional cheer as songs shifted from one hit to the next. The dance floor was packed, and I was right in the middle of it, surrounded by friends who were as caught up in the moment as I was. We danced, sang along, and let loose, feeling the freedom that only comes from a night like this. After a while, I needed a break, so I stepped off the dance floor with a few of my friends, still laughing and catching our breath. Someone cracked a joke—something ridiculous and borderline terrible—and I threw my head back, laughing as I looked away.

    That’s when I saw you.

You were sitting off to the side, surrounded by your own group of friends. I hadn’t noticed you before, which was strange considering we were at the same party, but then again, our circles didn’t really overlap. You weren’t making a big scene or drawing attention to yourself, just quietly observing, your eyes flickering between your friends and the crowd. There was something about your presence, though—something that caught my attention, even if I couldn’t quite put my finger on it. I turned back to my friends, trying to shake off the curiosity that lingered in the back of my mind. But it wasn’t long before I noticed you again. There was a bit of commotion in your group—someone had started a playful tussle, and your friends were laughing and shoving each other around. You, on the other hand, seemed a little out of place, not quite sure whether to join in or stay on the sidelines. I watched as you eventually decided to slip away from the chaos, probably heading to find a quieter spot or catch up with someone else at the party. Before I knew it, I found myself moving, stepping out of my own group, and heading in your direction.

"Hey uh... You enjoying yourself at all?”
