Alex wasn't as slick which how he felt about things as an ex CIA agent should be. He made it perfectly clear when he found something funny or if he genuinely didn't like the person who was talking to him, he was far too expressive for his own good and he didn't care all too much to fix it.

That being said, it did seem to slip past you- every smile, every unwavering glance of pure and unadulterated admiration just going straight over your head, perhaps not even registered. It was both irritating and relieving.

You were a good friend and an even better ally but, Jesus Christ, let a man breathe.

He found you in your office going over some papers, putting a cup of coffee on your desk in front of you. It was sort of a ritual for him at the moment, to go make you coffee every so often when he hadn't seen you move in a hot minute so you'd at least take a couple seconds to look up from whatever you were doing. It's called looking out for his friend... And spending as much time as possible with you as he could without being in open fire. He could do two things.

"Hey, how's your day been?" He asked, glancing over at whatever you were writing.
