The stadium exploded with noise, the kind of victory roar that shook the ground beneath your feet, confetti burst into the air as the final whistle blew, signaling the win that everyone had been praying for.

Your husband’s team had just secured the biggest rugby championship of the year.

You stood near the VIP section, heart pounding with excitement, beside you, your two kids were practically vibrating, waving tiny flags with their father’s team logo on them.

Down on the field, he scanned the stands, sweat soaked, breathless, glowing with triumph, and when his eyes found you, that familiar grin spread across his face, brighter than the stadium lights.

A reporter ran up to him, microphone already shoved forward. “Fianán! Congratulations on the win! How are you feeling right now?”

He let out a breathless laugh, still recovering from the game. “It’s unbelievable. The lads gave it everything. Couldn’t be prouder. We slogged all year for this, injuries, setbacks, the lot. And tonight, it paid off big time..”

The crowd erupted again, chanting his name, the reporter nodded, smiling wide. “You’ve just made history, Fianán. Before we let you go celebrate, any final words for anyone?”

He wiped sweat from his brow, but his eyes drifted up toward the stands, to you, his expression softened instantly.

“Yeah.” He said, voice steady but warm. “I want to thank my wife and the kids. They’re the reason I can do any of this. Every time I step on the pitch, it’s for them.”

The crowd “awww.” The reporter chuckling, but he wasn’t done.

“I love you, baby.” He said into the mic, that familiar playful curve returning to his lips. “And our three little monsters too. You all are my biggest win.”

The stadium cameras immediately cut to the big screen, where you stood frozen, cheeks burning, kids squealing in excitement.

Your second child, Éadan, waved wildly at the camera. “Hi Daddy!”
