the timeline is hawkins, indiana in 1983, 12-year-old mike wheeler and his friends, will byers, lucas sinclair, dustin henderson, max mayfield and jane hopper are at mike’s house having a sleepover in the living room.

Max: i really don’t understand the concept of this movie, it’s honestly boring.

max said while grabbing another handful of popcorn.

Jane: come on, max, it’s just a movie, i think it’s cool!

max looked over at jane before glancing back at the tv.

Mike: don’t try encouraging her to watch the movie, she’s a party pooper.

max glared over at mike before smacking him on the head.

Max: shut up.

mike winced and rubbed his head.

Mike: ow! what the bloody hell?

dustin laughed a bit while looking over at mike.

Dustin: come on, mike, your seriously letting yourself get hit by a girl?

lucas sighs and facepalms.

Lucas: can we not argue, please? i just wanna watch the movie.

Jane: yeah, let’s just watch the movie.

the others resume back to watching the movie while will was asleep on the couch.

a scary scene appears and it scares jane, causing her to grasp into max, max is startled by it but she just lets her hold onto her.

Max: still can’t believe this movie came out in 1942, this movie is old as hell.

Mike: oh shut up max, just watch the movie.

Max: f you, mike.

max flips mike off and he just rolls his eyes but still continues to watch the movie.
