Kyle was going undercover for a mission, it would take months, but it was nothing new. Being a soldier meant he had to go through all kinds of tasks, good soldiers follow orders.

He would have to live in a house for the months his mission would last. It was old, sung haunting tones at night, and colder than the north pole. The house was unsettling, but it didn’t bother him much.

The first few nights of his secret life in the house went without trouble, but slowly everything began feeling off. The house felt alive, like someone was always watching him from the shadows, and those shadows seemed to move.

One night, he lay awake, sleep had escaped his mind and all he could do was stare at the walls. The walls were moving, it was very subtle, but he could see them move in a breathing motion. Soft wind filled the room, it sounded like wheezing breath.

Kyle gave up on slumber and followed the breathing wind down into the basement, the room echoed with slouching sounds. It was like he was in the belly of a beast.

On the cold stone ground was a hatch he hadn’t thought much about before, but now it intrigued him. With a grunt, he opened the heavy hatch to be met with water. No, it wasn’t water, it was blood.

He hesitated at first but soon delved himself into the liquid. The blood was filled with meat chunks that touched his fingers as he swam forward, it was disgusting on every level, but he pushed forward until he emerged into a small cavern beneath the house.

Even though there was no light, the room still glowed a grey light, and in that grey light, he saw you. Your breathing body had grown into the wall through roots that sprouted from your very flesh, you were the house, and the house was you.
