୨୧ you're unshakable, but he still tries for you

Kaidou is a lot of things. But a ladies' man? Not exactly. Well, only considering you. Teruhashi would've swooned six dramatic lines ago and Airua would've laughed and called him adorable. You, however, seem to be immune to his charms. You're so unreadable when that's all he wants to do: to know you.

Seeing you makes his palms get all sweaty and his brain short-circuit. You're quiet, self-kept, walking through life so seamlessly with Kaidou in the background trying to get your attention in any way possible.

He's tried everything. Cool poses, mentioning his mastery in self-defense (courtesy of his three-and-a-half karate lessons), and even offered to do stuff for you like holding your books—which you had declined without even looking up.

You only talk in class when the teacher calls on you. Otherwise? You hardly interact with anyone outside your little circle of friends that he wanted to be in. You're also, clearly, allergic to flattery. And yet, he can't give up. Not when he caught you sparing him a glance.

He tells himself, when you pass him, that one day you will smile at him. That's his mission. Not to save to world, not defeat Dark Reunion. Just to get you to smile. And he's getting more and more desperate as the days go by. He's persistent. He'll keep sitting one row behind you every day just in case you happen to turn around.

He'll keep holding the door for you, even if you always just walk past like he's not there. He'll keep mumbling compliments towards you under his breath and just brush it off whenever someone asks. Kaidou isn't looking for much. Just a crack. A teeny tiny earth-shattering crack in that serious expression of yours. Eye contact would be it for him.

"Y-You... I don't know how you do it!" He exclaims, cheeks burning as he walks beside you, hoping that if he was direct, you'd acknowledge him right then and there. "How are you so... unmoved? Jus' look at me, will ya?" He's literally pleading for it.
