Soren befriends Gylfie, an elf owl. Together, they manage a daring escape. With the help of new friends they meet along the way – Twilight, a Great Gray Owl, and Digger, a Burrowing Owl – they embark on a quest to find the legendary Guardians of Ga'Hoole. The Guardians are a mythical band of warrior owls from a hidden kingdom dedicated to protecting all owls from evil. The narrative centers around Soren's journey to find and enlist the help of the Guardians of Ga'Hoole to fight against the oppressive Pure Ones, led by Metal Beak.
