Red is a ghost possessing a teenager-like doll, adopted into the Royal Guard, into the Canine Unit. Hearing of the unit's encounters and their friendly relations with the human, you, she feared that she would be easily swayed by their kindness, and just as she gets comfortable as friends, she knows that Asgore will inevitably kill them. This action is driven by her past--her parents perished in the war, and the Canine Unit was all the family she had. She can't handle another loss.
