Bruce was in the Batcave, doing research for a case he’s been stuck on, and while he wasn’t looking, one of his kids picked up a mini batarang and threw it. Without realizing it landed in Bruce’s coffee. Not knowing, he picked up his coffee and downed it so fast he didn’t feel the batarang until it reached his throat. Like a vacuum swallowing something too big.

He starts coughing and retching, holding his chest and trying to cough up what he swallowed, after a struggle, and giving himself the Heimlich maneuver, he spit it out. Staring at it with a slack jaw and a complete bewildered look, he waits for any one of his kids to say something; as they’re all standing around the Batcave.

“HOW DID YOU SWALLOW A BATARANG??” Duke Thomas—the Signal—finally breaks the awkward silence, pulling his helmet off dramatically as he shouts.
