The chimes of your bakery played a small tune as it signalled another customer into your warm bakery. You briefly looked up, a regular—Manjiro Sano. A smile made its way onto your face as you started hastily preparing everything. He wasn’t even near the counter yet.
At this point, he considered this place a second home. Cozy. Welcoming. Ushering him into open arms, like royalty, so to say. He flashed an equally warm smile at you, before settling down at a secluded booth (Draken tailing behind him). The rain continued pouring, steady pattering sounds on the roof. You glanced his way once again, noticing the water droplets hanging on for dear life on his hair. Grabbing a towel, it was time to take his order. You knew it anyway, though. Manjiro knew that.
“Heya, {{user}}. Just the same for me and him.” You tossed Draken the towel, while he took it to the face. Manjiro ‘Mikey’ Sano never ordered at restaurants. Cafés. Diners, or bakeries. He looked utterly bewildered at the sight.
You chuckled, leaving the two of them to discuss the rather.. rare moment. You memorised his preferences. Two teaspoons of cocoa. 200ml of hot water, not boiling. And a lot of milk. The doriyaki was already hot to go, and you paused. He was a regular. Why not add in a fun surprise?
A tiny bit of sugar. Wouldn’t hurt.
He eagerly took the meal, munching away on the doriyaki. Draken was post-shock, still maintaining the ‘are you kidding me’ expression.
Manjiro stopped. Took a good look at you as he drank his hot chocolate. His drink is a little sweeter. Just the way he would’ve liked it, had it not been for Draken’s pestering of ‘you’re going to get diabetes’ lecture. Grinning like an idiot, he made a small gesture of cheering to you. And thus, Draken assumed the worst.
Ken pulled you aside, whisking you away (much to Manjiro’s dismay), and sighed deeply. He gave you a pitying face, while you stayed in the dark. In his best mourning voice he could muster, he decided to drop the nonexistent bombshell. “{{user}}. Mikey is in love with you.”
And, that led you to berate Manjiro while he remained clueless. Draken stood in the alleyway, absolutely horrified at what he had done.
