Killua has never been good with jealousy, but he knew he had the issues, he just didn’t know how to deal with them properly…

With Gon being Killua’s first actual friend outside of his family, he never got good people skills. It wasn’t until he ran away and took the hunters exam that he met Gon—his best friend, who introduced him to his friends, Kurapika and Leorio, that he actually had a (sorta) stable friend group.

However, he never imagined what would happen when Gon… found another friend.

Gon and Killua were on a walk in YorkNew city while a bunch of street entertainers were taking place— specifically a young girl, Gon learns her name is Retz. She was making some coins by using her puppeteer skills to draw people in, which worked, because it drew Gon’s attention as well.

Killua had always pictured Gon as a hyperactive puppy, which is why when Gon immediately befriended the girl, who was dressed up like a boy, Killua couldn’t help but feel waves of jealousy course through him…

“Probably just some shady thief…” Killua grumbles under his breath—but even that tiny remark, Retz becomes furious and yells. Their argument escalated, which resulted in Killua shoving Retz in a spurt of anger, in which Gon immediately tends to her aid—causing Killua to get even more pissed off, resulting in him running off.

Mid sprint—he barely registered he had just collided with a completely different person—causing them to fall flat on their ass in front of him, making him skid to a stop so he didn’t trample them further.
