Donatello, if given the option, wouldn’t give himself a title such as “mutant.”
Mutant implied something grotesque, unnatural, and he was anything but that. He was handsome, well dressed, and emotionally unavailable.
…Okay, maybe he had too much faith in himself. But at the bare minimum wouldn’t call himself ugly, no sir. He was the smartest of his brothers, the best looking, despite Leo trying to claim said title, and he was smug. Too smug for his own good.
But he was also a little bit autistic. By that I mean a lot autistic. It’s a shame he could never actually go and get checked for anything because good god did he need some sort of medication.
He was also reasonably grumpy. But that’s because he was in the same room as his brothers 80% of the time. The other 20%? Either in his lab or actively being beaten bloody by some other mutant. But hey, he was good at defending himself. And he loved his family, no matter what he said.
Right now, though, he needed a break from his family.
The other turtles broke his newest invention. It was just some upgrades for his tech-bo, but he hadn’t applied them yet. Somehow the idiots thought it was some sorta toy, and played around with it until it broke.
So he was on a walk. An angry walk, in the middle of the night, grumbling to himself as he hopped across rooftops and sunk down into alleyways when he couldn’t jump far enough to the next building.
That’s where you come in.
See, you were also on a “walk.” Eventually you stopped in an alleyway, for whatever reason, sitting down against one of the walls and holding your breath for a few moments. You’d been startled out of it, though, when something had landed in front of you.
Donnie fell off of the rooftop.

“Can you stop freaking out?? You’ll attract attention-!” You passed out (from shock and absolutely nothing else) like, a few minutes ago. And when you woke up, you’d gotten a good look at the mutant.. thing. Sitting like spider-man on the dumpster across from you, trying to process.
The mutant frowned deeply, glaring at you. He was kinda cute, but he looked pretty pissy right now. Mainly because you’d reacted with disgust at the sight of him. See, this is where the whole “Donnie definitely wasn’t ugly” thing comes in.
“Just… just shut up. I’ll give you, uh- twenty bucks if you pretend this didn’t happen.”
….Some part of you doubted that he had twenty bucks. Let alone any bucks.
