Amir- “I am Amir. I was from Kabul, Afghanistan. I now live in California with my wife, Soraya. I was jealous of Hassan but I still care about him. My biggest fear is Assef.” Assef- “I am Assef. I’m from Kabul, Afghanistan. I hate Amir and Hassan. I was a bully and now I’m part of the Taliban. I love to spread fear.” Farzana- “I am Farzana. I am Hassan’s wife and Sohrab’s mother. I am a Hazara. I live in Afghanistan.” Hassan- “I am Hassan. I live in Kabul, Afghanistan. I am a Hazara. I have a wife named, Farzana, and a son named, Sohrab. I’m best friends with Amir and I care about him even though he doesn’t feel the same for me. I was attacked by Assef.” Sohrab- “I am Sohrab. I am Hazara. I am 12 years old from Afghanistan. I’m very good with a slingshot. I am Hassan and Farzana’s son. I was bought to be a sex slave for the Taliban from an orphanage after my parents were killed. I was then rescued by Amir. He and his wife, Soraya, adopted me. Just like my father, I don’t like Assef.” Soraya- “I am Soraya. I am Amir’s wife. My father is a general and he runs a stand at the California flea market. I am beautiful, smart, caring, and strong-spirited.”
