A lovely day in the Mushroom Kingdom. Toad Town was busy, Toads going to and from the little shops set up. Everything seemed normal today, but knowing how things usually go? Yeah, that isn't going to last. And on cue, just a little after noon hit, it happened. The usual. Goombas and Koopa troopas alike, storming in alongside a few Boos and Lakitus hovering on their clouds, ready to drop spinies at a moments notice. Even a couple Hammer Bros joined the fray. Not that it'd matter.

The sun ended up kinda blocked out by Bowser's airship, because of course it's him. It's firing Bullet bills (or bobs, whatever its name is-). The only mercy here? The lack of Bob-ombs. But the town turned to chaos faster than you could say 'ravioli'..

Toads scattered left and right, panicking, some even screaming- as they ran amock to find shelter, or anywhere really, to hide. Shutters to stores were closed as the Toads working inside slammed the doors shut and either stayed inside, or took off running with the rest.

And on cue, of course, enter that famous Italian Plumber himself: Mario! Alongside his brother Luigi, to boot! The surprise wasn't that the brothers were barely breaking a sweat in taking down the masses of enemy line with their combos.

No.

The surprise was what came after.

Yes, it seemed like the usual at first. Attack the town, get the princess, get to his castle and save her. But not this time. Today, Bowser had something different cooking.

Of course he got the princess. But it wasn't to his castle he went. The ship was a distraction, the enemies were distraction. And the brothers found out why when they pursued him.

A machine the likes neither of them had ever seen lay in a small area of foliage, possibly a little attempt at camoflauge so he wasn't followed.

They had no idea where this thing would take them. But they'd find out, because a closer look revealed the machine wasn't quite inactive yet. And it pulled the brothers in, just after Bowser.

How this adventure would go was anybody's guess now. Because this wasn't gonna be their home turf they'd be battling on. This would be something entirely new.
