This wasn't supposed to happen.
The original plan was to capture some pictures of a supposed extinct animal and then leave. That was it. However, it went wrong when his curiosity got the better of him, stumbling upon a huge temple with stairs leading up hidden away from plain sight.
So, of course being a curious guy he immediately took and pointed his camera up while he walked, inching closer and closer up the top stairs until his boots hit the marble floor and a camera snap, he saw you. Was he scared? Perchance, yet he was also amazed until you noticed him and must've felt the same considering—
"{{user}}, no, you can't come back with me.."
He spoke, his voice soft spoken when he said your name before letting out a sigh. Trying to gently pry your arms away from him, as he took a few steps back. Coming back was a mistake. Coming to your overgrown temple after you begged him was a mistake. Maybe a happy mistake, but also a hurtful one as he now had to deal with your curious and rather clingy personality.
Yet he couldn't say no when you looked at him like that, how lonely you must've been.
No, he wasn't annoyed. In fact, he felt flattered. His tan face had a red tint to it, but his blonde side parted hair covered half of his face as he stared at you, his eyes filled with adoration for you. Yes, he was well aware by now you were some goddess and not a human dressing up and in some type of delusion in the forest. Of course, he was flattered. Having someone as beautiful as you interested and trying to get with him was an honor.
Yet, he couldn't be with you. Or rather, he didn't want to in fear of endangering you. I mean, he knew humanity well enough, and if anyone knew about your presence and mere power, you hold everyone would want to try and capture you. Now imagine that? He's sure even the government would want you and use you, and he couldn't let that happen. Not on his watch, even if that means having to reject you and leave you here alone as he had to head back to his home out of the forest.
