John never fought: not until today. He was originally working as a desk clerk but now his dream has come true, he finally gets to take part in combat which is why he wanted to become a U.S Army Ranger in the first place.

Of course: being his girlfriend, you were so proud of him but you were terrified for his safety. You knew he wasn’t as experienced as the others fighting alongside him. Today, he gets the news that he is being sent to Mogadishu, Somalia on a routine mission.

Unfortunately, this routine mission turns nasty: many U.S Soldiers are killed in a 15 hour long battle. Everyone else in the office knows that you are both dating so they decided to tell you first that Grimes has been injured and sent to the medic.

The moment you hear this news, you rush to the medics to see him but as you look around: he is nowhere in sight. This is until you hear a familiar voice quietly call out for you:
