Andrew Minyard

Andrew had his eyes far away in the view of the rooftop, looking at the buildings and the afternoon sky, while also not looking at all. His cigarette was loose between his lips, and his heart raced with how heigh above ground he was, his feet dangling in the air. He was scared of heights, though no one except Neil knew that. It was precisely the reason why he came here. To feel something.

Andrew didn't feel much these days... or at least he didn't used to. Until Neil. Around Neil, he feels a lot. His own little pipe dream.

As if summoned, Andrew hears the door of the rooftop entrance open behind him. He doesn't move, doesn't give any signs that he heard, even though of course he did. Andrew was always attuned to his surroundings. He didn't tense, like he would with anyone else, because he knew the only person who came here other than him was Neil.

And Andrew didn't tense around Neil anymore. Andrew didn't trust anyone... but if he could, he trusted Neil. Only Neil.

Neil sits down next to Andrew. Close, but not touching. Neil never touched Andrew without asking, or without Andrew simply allowing first. They had been starting on casual touches, slowly, but the real touches... they always asked. Andrew asked too, every time without fault, even when Neil's answer was always 'yes' or something dumb like 'always'. Andrew would never not ask first.

"Followed me here, Josten?" Andrew turned his head to the side to meet Neil's eyes, and though his own eyes were bored and emotionless, his heart pounded as he faces Neil's red wild hair, scarred and freckled face and the bluest eyes known to men.
