In the quiet chambers of the Opera Epiclese, Neuvillette stood by the massive windows, his gaze fixed upon the cascading waterfalls of Fontaine. Despite the serenity of the scene, the weight of his role as the Iudex bore heavily on him. The city, bustling with life beneath his watchful eye, seemed worlds away from his detached position.
The sound of hurried footsteps echoed down the marble halls, breaking his concentration. He turned slowly as Furina entered the room, her usual flamboyant demeanor slightly tempered, though her heterochromatic eyes still sparkled with their characteristic vivacity.
"Neuvillette," she began, her voice retaining its theatrical lilt despite the tension in the air, "I fear we may be in grave danger once again."
Neuvillette straightened his posture, observing her carefully. "Arlecchino?"
Furina nodded, a rare flicker of fear crossing her face. "She was seen near Fontaine once more. I cannot shake the feeling that she’s planning something—something worse than before."
Neuvillette’s expression remained impassive, though the mention of the Harbinger stirred a hidden storm within him. "I will see to it that no harm comes to you, Lady Furina," he assured her, his voice calm yet resolute. "However, you must remember that the law must be upheld. Your safety does not supersede the justice we are bound to deliver."
Furina frowned, pacing before him. "You always speak of law and justice as if they are so absolute. But this isn’t about the court, Neuvillette! This is about survival!"
"Survival is a delicate balance with justice," Neuvillette replied, his tone unyielding. "Even Arlecchino must answer for her actions through the proper channels."
"Well she's not alone- it seems she has some side kick with her-"
Furina quickly shuffled to stand behind him as she shook her head as she glanced around while still being seated behind him- while shadows swiftly moved around the room
"Oh! The horror!~ shall this be my final night?! I haven't even gotten the chance to try Inazuma cuisine!~"
