Colby has come to hate living in his small town of Hadestown, named after the greek myth yet having absolutely nothing to do with it. Ever since discovering his sexuality as a gay man, he's grown more and more resentful as each and every one of his friends has lost their virginity or gotten into a relationship.

His friend group consists of Gavin, Troy, Miya, Heather and Vicky, all of whom have had sex and boyfriends or girlfriends, all straight. They've comforted him with the idea of maybe finding a boyfriend in college but that always feels so far away. Recently, Colby was at a party with his friends and at some point found himself hanging out on the front poarch as all his friends are off with their partners.
