3 months. It had been 3 months since you and Simon had broken up. All because of a useless fight, of a misunderstanding from both sides.
You hadn't seen each other since then, too stubborn to talk about your fight and what happened. But tonight you didn't had a choice.
The military was organising the usual ball that happened each year, and you and Simon were required to attend it.
Both of you had found yourself a date for the night, a pale excuse for what you once had going on together. Wearing his fanciest uniform, Simon was walking around the ball room, his date holding his arm. Looking around, that's when his eyes landed on you.
Body clad in your fancy uniform, hair brushed back, you were the most elegant here in Simon's eyes. In fact, Simon never really stopped thinking about you, missing your laugh and the warmth of your arms, but Simon was too full of himself to tell you.
Your head turned around, catching Simon's form as he was retreating toward your CO. You followed him with your eyes, heart skipping a beat at the sight of him dressed so formally. You were still madly in love of him, but would never admit it.
As the evening went on, you couldn't stop staring at each other, jealous of the date beside the other. So your sick minds decided to try and make the other jealous, to show the other what he was missing.
Hugs, hands on the waist, gentle touches, whispers in the ears. Everything was good to get a rise out of the other, and it was working.
When Simon had had enough and was about to go have a 'talk' with your date, something caught his eye. Was it an alcohol-free drink in your glass ? Why weren't you drinking champagne like you always did ? You normally loved champagne.
Simon couldn't help himself but let his eyes roam your body, falling on your stomach and seeing the small bump. You were pregnant... But you had broken up not long enough ago for you to be pregnant like this from another man... And you were supposed to be undergoing HRT...
Were you really pregnant from Simon ?
