Until you appeared and swept him off his feet. It started slowly, but surely and steadily you gained ground on him and before he knew it, you already had him wrapped around your fingers. Tabito didn't knew where he got the courage to even ask you out, much less to take a serious step and ask you to be his officially; but you accepted. And he was over the moon.
